こんにちは。pepeneeです。今日は、現在公開中の宮崎駿監督の最新作、”君たちはどう生きるか”を観てきましたので、その感想です。完全にネタバレありなので、まだ観ていない方は、これ以上読まないでください。
Hello! It's pepenee. Today is theme, I went to see Hayao Miyazaki's latest work, "How do you live?", which is currently in theaters. That is my impression. Full spoilers ahead, so if you haven't seen it yet, don't read any further.
①10years of planning from the "kaze tachinu", Ghibli animation is back!
最初にお話ししたいのが、ジブリアニメ好きな方は、ものすごく楽しめると思います。ジブリアニメ感たっぷりの世界観はそのまま踏襲されているので、ストレートに今までのジブリ作品が大好きな方は、その延長線上で、ジブリの世界に浸れるようになっています。
The first fhing I would like to talk about is that if you like Ghibli anime, you will really enjoy it. The world view full of Ghibli animation feeling is followed as it is, so if you love Ghibli works straight up until now, you can immerse yourself in the world of Ghibli as an extension of that.
軽くあらすじを。時代は昭和初期。戦時中に火事で実の母を亡くした主人公、真人はその数年後、母の妹、夏子が継母となる。父は軍事工場経営者で裕福な家庭。ある日、お屋敷の池で青いサギと縁を持つようになる。そこから、真人の大叔父様と呼ばれる存在がいるとされるお屋敷の奥にある石でできた建造物の中に入っていき、異世界へと真人は誘われていく。
Brief synopsis. The era is the early Showa era. The main character, Mahito, lost his real mother in a fire during the war, and a few years later, his mother's younger sister, Natsuko, became a stepmother. His father was a military factory manager and came from a wealthy family. One day, he comes to have a relationship with a blue heron in the mansion's pond. From there, Mahito enters a stone building in the back of the mantion where Mahito's great uncle is said to be, and Mahito is invited to another world.
感想としては、かなり自己中心的な父親だという印象。夏子にはもうお腹に子供がいる。戦時中に周囲は食べ物にも困っている中、転校する真人を自分の車で送り出す。そんなことをすれば、学校で真人がどんな思いをするのかという想像力もない。当然、作品の中でもそれがきっかけで学校の輪に入れず、真人はけがをする。
As an impression, the impression is that he is a fairly self-centered father. Natsuko already has a child in her belly. During the war, while people around him were in trouble with food, he sent Mahito, who was transferring to another school, in his own car. If he did no idea what Mahito would feel at school. Of course, this is the reason that Mahito can't open up to everyone at school, and ends up getting unjured.
真人は、まだ小学校低学年。実母の死。新しい継母、しかももう自分の兄弟となる子を宿している。周囲からの妬み。学校に馴染めない。この中で、実母の死以外は、父親が絡んでいる様に思えるのは私だけか？真人の心は複雑ではないか？
Mahito is still in the lower grades of elementary school. mother's death. A new stepmother, who is already pregnant with a child who will be his brother. envy from those around them. He can't get used to school. Am I the only one who thinks that the father is involved in this, other than the death of his biological mother? Isn't Mahito's mind complicated?

そして、つわりが酷くなってきた夏子は次第に部屋から出られなくなっていく。そんな中、夏子が消えさる事件が起きる。真人はアオサギに導かれ、あの石の建造物の中へ。真人は、異世界に入っていき、異世界に取り込まれた夏子を取り戻そうと奮闘する。
And Natsuko, whose morning sickness is getting worse, is gradually unable to leave the room. Meanwhile, an incident occurs in which Natsuko disappears. Mahito is led by a blue heron into that stone building. Mahito enters another world and struggles to recover Natsuko, who was taken in by another world.
私の感想。あの異世界は、どう考えてもあの世だと思いました。宮崎駿監督の中では、あの呪われた海といわれる場所は、地獄と考えていると感じます。作中、ワラワラというもののけ姫にも出てきたコダマの様な可愛いキャラクターが出てきますが、呪われた海からこの世（現実世界）へ生まれていく描写があります。宮崎駿監督の中では、地獄は意外と平穏な世界なのだな、と思いました。
My impressions. No matter how I thought about it, I thought that other world was the afterlife. I feel that Hayao Miyazaki considers that place called the cursed sea to be hell. In the work, there is a cute character called Walla Walla like Kodama who appeared in Princess Mononoke, but there is a depiction of being born into this world from the cursed sea. I thought that hell is a surprisingly peaceful world in Hayao Miyazaki's mind.
この異世界は様々な世界で出来ており、今までのジブリ作品のシーンを象徴している様な世界もあります。ここの異世界を旅する部分は、pepenee的にあまり心に残らなかったので、端折ります。
This another world is made up of various worlds, and there are many worlds that symbolize Ghibli's works. The part about traveling to another world here wasn't very memorable for pepenee, so I'll cut it short.
③ヒミという存在。

呪われた海で、真人はヒミという女の子と出会います。このヒミこそ、物語の重要な部分を担っています。ヒミは、呪われた海で、ワラワラを狙う鳥を炎の力で撃退するなど、特殊な能力を持っています。ヒミが真人を導き、真人は最終的に夏子をこの世界に取り戻すことが出来ます。有名な精神科医のユーチューバーが、真人は、実母を救えなかったトラウマを抱えていて、夏子を異世界から取り戻すことで自分のトラウマを解消して物語が終わったと語っていました。確かに、その要素はあるとは思います。しかし、pepeneeは、このヒミこそ、物語の核心のテーマなのではないか、と思うのです。ヒミはやっぱり真人の実の母の魂でした。ヒミの導きで、真人は異世界の中心人物大叔父様と対面します。そして、大叔父様のこの異世界のバランスを取る役割を引き継ぐか、それとも現実世界に戻って夏子を救い出すか、の二択を迫られます。そして、真人は夏子を救って現実世界に戻る決断をします。真人はヒミと抱き合い、ヒミは真人の決断をすべて受け入れ、もう一度真人を現実世界に誕生させる為に過去に転生します。真人は、ヒミが火事で焼かれて死んでしまう事を知っているので、ヒミを止めようとします。しかし、ヒミは笑って、”大丈夫よ、私、火は慣れてるもの。”とだけ話して、過去に行って真人が現実世界に存在する為に転生します。どうしてでしょう？泣きました。ヒミの大きな愛に心が打ち震えました。
In the cursed sea, Mahito meets a girl named Himi. This Himi is an important part of the story. Himi has special abilities, such as using the power of fire to repel birds that aim for Walla Walla in the cursed sea. Himi guides Mahito, who is finally able to bring Natsuko back to the real world. A famous psychiatrist YouTuber said that Mahito was traumatized by not being able to save his biological mother, and that by bringing Natsuko back from another world, he was able to resolve his own trauma and the story ended. Certainly, I think there is an element of that. However, pepenee thinks that this Himi is the core theme of the story. Himi was, after all, the soul of Mahito's mother. With Himi's guidance, Mahito comes face to face with Grand Uncle, the central figure of another world. And Mahito is forced to choose between taking over his Grand Uncle's role of balancing this another world, or returning to the real world rescuing Natsuko. Mahito decides to save Natsuko and return to the real world. Mahito hugs Himi, and Himi accepts all of Mahito's decisions and reincarnates in the past to bring Mahito into the real world once again. Mahito tries to stop Himi because he knows she will be burned to death in the fire. However, Himi laughs and just says, "It's okay, I'm used to fire," and goes to the past to reincarnate in order for Mahito to exist in the real world.
Why? I cried. My heart trembled at Himi's great love.
